Madhuri Dixit, the dancing diva of Bollywood turns a year wiser today as she rings in her 47th birthday. After a good two decades since her debut in Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit Nene is still very much the popular star of B-town. Watch the promos of the IIFA Awards 2014 event which took place in Tampa Bay, Florida, recently. The gala was held for four days. It began with the introduction of IIFA Stomp, a free-to-all public party offering "a taste of India". With an entertaining mix of Indian food, music and handicrafts, the party was held at the picturesque Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

Then, there was IIFA Rocks, an exclusive night of music and fashion; IIFA Magic of the Movies and Technical Awards; and the main IIFA Awards night. The main awards night was hosted by Shahid and Farhan and was staged at the spacious Raymond James Stadium.

From practicing dance to following strict diet and exercise regime - 13 celebrities from various walks of life are sweating it out for the last four weeks to unleash "never seen before" action on the stage of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7", starting June 7.

This year the show follows a "never seen before" theme. Small screen's “Madhubala” Drashti Dhami, who participated in the last season, and Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey will co-host the show, while Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo D'Souza will once again take the judges' seats for the new season.

The contestants range from actors Kritika Kamra, Mouni Roy, Purab Kohli, Karan Tacker, Sophie Choudry, Pooja Banerjee and Ashish Sharma to VJ Andy, professional dancer Shakti Mohan, singer Sukhwinder Singh, comedian Kiku Sharda as Palak, and cricketer S. Sreesanth.

Young dancing talent Akshat Singh will join them.

To put their best foot forward on the dance floor, the contestants rehearsed for three to four hours every day at the Jhalak House in Versova. The show is a training ground for most contestants and they started practicing four weeks ago.

Talking about their schedules for the rehearsals, Andy, whose antics on "Bigg Boss Saath 7" made him popular, said: "We all get a private room to rehearse, with different time schedules allotted to each contestant. We rehearse with our choreographers for three to four hours minimum a day."

Everyone has a competitive spirit, but Mouni says they feel contestant Shakti is a cut above the rest.

"Everyone is a competitor here. We don't include Shakti, since she is mind-blowing and is perfect at it. We all are waiting for the first episode to be shot, so that we get to know the capabilities of other contestants and know the competition better," said Mouni, a graceful dancer herself.

Dance is not all that the participants are doing. There's some dieting and exercising happening too!

"We work out in a gym. We have to eat healthy food. Our mentors guide us and instruct us what to eat and what not to. We have to be flexible and fit enough to perform different dance moves and styles," said Andy.

Also, the "never seen before" theme has ensured that contestants are on their toes. They are learning new dancing styles to lend a new and different look to the show.

"We have been mixing different styles and giving in new effects this time. Previous seasons have shown all the concepts and styles, so it's a hard time for us to show new things," said Karan.

For the likes of Kiku, popular as Palak from "Comedy Nights With Kapil", the show is a platform to hone his dancing skills.

"I always had a thing for dance. I was planning to join some dance institute, but soon, the offer for 'Jhalak...' dropped in and I happily accepted it. The show is paying me to learn dance, what more I can ask for," quipped Kiku.

Humpty Varun Dhawan and his dulhania Alia Bhatt attended the premiere of the TV reality dance show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. One of the judges of the show is none other than the youngsters' mentor Karan Johar, who launched them in the movie 'Student of the Year'. Also seen are celebrity judges Madhuri Dixit Nene and Remo D'Souza.

Karan tweeted the group picture and wrote, "Humpty and his Dulhania on Jhalak....premiere night...coming up on the 7th...on COLORS!"

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is produced by Karan Johar and directed by debutant Shashank Khaitan. The film will be released on 11 July.

The movie that releases this weekend has already garnered good reviews from the critics.

‘The Substance And The Shadow’ chronicles the life of the 91-year-old from his days as a child to present - the ups and downs in his life, his family, career, wife and more.

Saif Ali Khan put his 'Nawabi' style to use when he shared the stage with Bollywood beauty Madhuri Dixit and recited a poem to flatter her.

Saif, who is currently busy in the promotions of his forthcoming comedy caper "Humshakals", recently visited the set of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7", and there, he confessed he's a fan of the actress, who co-judges the TV dance reality show.

He didn't just recite a poem for her, but also sang and danced with her on the song "Callertune".

A source close to the team said: "Saif is a very avid reader, and he loves reading poems. During the promotion, while he was on stage with Madhuri, he charmed her by narrating poetry."

Saif also couldn’t stop blushing while dancing with her, the source added.

Directed by Sajid Khan, "Humshakals" also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Tamannaah and Esha Gupta. The film is releasing June 20.

‘Mardaani’ will be Rani’s first movie post her wedding to Yash Raj Films head honcho Aditya Chopra.

The actress plays a fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in the movie. This is the first time she will play a cop on-screen.

Akshay even entertained the judges and the contestants with his funky dance moves on the song ‘Johnny johnny’ from his movie.

The dance reality show is judged by Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit, filmmaker Karan Johar and choreographer Remo D’Souza. Interestingly, Remo is also the choreographer of Khiladi Kumar’s movie and he also shook a leg with the actor on the show.

Akshay was his normal cool-dude self. He came in a black t-shirt paired up with a black blazer and black baggy pants.

Earlier titled ‘It’s Entertainment’, the movie is directed by Sajid-Farhad and it also features Tamannaah Bhatia.

Bollywood comes together for the most celebrated movie...Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! Where to start? Perfection!!! 20 years back...thank the lord director Sooraj Barjatya came with up this brilliant idea of probably making the best family drama ever created in Bollywood. Others tried and failed to recreate the magic HAHK left behind. Directors that followed post release of HAHK still credit HAHK as their inspiration behind film making.

They came and conquered our hearts. Their fights, the drama, their naughtiness & their LOVE. *Cough, Cough* what better way to define the strong presence they left on us forever. Salman Khan and director Sooraj Barjatya are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their movie ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’. The actor says that the niceness of the characters, the people, the whole ambience on the sets and everyone having a really nice time together, it was just a beautiful setting.

The movie, which released on August 5, 1994, also featured Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, Mohnish Behl, Renuka Shahane, Reema Lagoo and Alok Nath.

In the video Salman and Sooraj are talking about the movie and their other projects like – ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. The director says “all that I have made till now is all that I have seen in family. It is all what I have seen and what I have felt. It is the importance of bringing together people, family, enjoyment…the only difference is what I want to be Salman bhai plays it on-screen, so it’s just the combination that works...It’s all what I have seen, what I have grown up as, is what I show.”

Salman says there is always a reference to the family (in Sooraj’s family), adding, “Everything is his examples of what he tells you how to perform, he has seen it. Either he uses as positive or he uses it as negative. He has seen everything.”

The director says the most beautiful part (for him) in the movie is the ‘Dhik tana dhik tana’ song.

Remembering an incident during the shooting, Sooraj also said that Renuka was making toasts for a scene and Salman ate all of them. The actor laughingly said that he ate 30 slices of bread that day and then they had to send someone to get more bread for the scene.

The actor and the director are teaming up again after 15 years for ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’.
