Veteran actor Dilip Kumar’s autobiography was launched at a star-studded event in Grand Hyatt, Santa Cruz, Mumbai on Monday.
The autobiography titled ‘The Substance And The Shadow’ is penned by author Udaytara Nayar and was eagerly awaited by the fans and even the B'Town celebs.
The event kicked off the three Bollywood beauties veteran actress Vyjantimala, Madhuri Dixit and Priyanka Chopra lighting the lamp to open the event.
The book was then released by Dilip’s wife Saira Banu, Amitabh, Aamir Khan and Dharmendra.
Seen on stage in the photographs are Saira, Amitabh, Priyanka, Madhuri, Vyjantimala, Dharmendra, Aamir, Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan, Subhash Ghai and Udaytara.
The celebrities also took to the stage and expressed their feeling about the legendary actor.
Aamir recited a poem penned by Prasoon Joshi on the occasion, said that he is the biggest fan of the actor in the film industry.
Dilip, who was born as Muhammad Yusuf Khan, made his cinematic debut with the 1944 movie ‘Jwar Bhata’. He has been part of movies like ‘Naya Daur’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Madhumati’ and ‘Mughal-E-Azam’.
‘The Substance And The Shadow’ chronicles the life of the 91-year-old from his days as a child to present - the ups and downs in his life, his family, career, wife and more.
The event was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar.
