Madhuri Dixit’s security demand has apparently taken a toll on the country-wide promotions of her upcoming film Dedh Ishqiya. Promotions across the country stand cancelled as the makers cannot afford the star’s exorbitant security cover.
The cast will now only promote the film in New Delhi. Abhishek Chaubey’s film starring Madhuri with Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi and Huma Qureshi is a medium budget project. When the budgeting was being done for the city tours it was pegged at approximately 5-6 lakh per city and the makers felt it not wise to spend so much on the promotions alone.
Apparently, as the film is made with a budget of around 16-17 crore, it makes no sense to the makers, to spend 6-7 lakh on city promotions. While city tours had been planned for Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Indore, they decided to just visit Delhi, keeping the budget in mind.
We hope the veteran actress and the makers know what they are doing.
